A 1936 autopsy specimen from a 48 year old solicitor's clerk, who had had no medical attention for twenty-five years. Four days before his death he had a sudden attack of "pain in the stomach", and felt giddy. He continued his work, with occasional attacks of pain which were ascribed to indigestion. Shortly after leaving the house on the fifth morning after the onset of symptoms, he collapsed in the street and died.
