Cardiovascular pathology: Heart: Old myocardial infarction: Left ventricular aneurysm

A 1976 autopsy specimen from a 65 year old business man, with a history of hypertension. He awoke one night with dyspnoea and chest pain and rapidly became unconscious. He was admitted to the coronary care unit. Despite initial improvement he developed intractable heart failure and died.
