Infectious disease: Lung/Intestine/Larynx: Tuberculosis

A 1937 autopsy specimen from a 17 year old garage attendant who had become lethargic and lost his appetite some nine months before he died. There was night sweating and shortness of breath, with copious expectoration developing. Weight was lost fast, and a swinging temperature continued unabated by treatment at either Lewisham Hospital or a sanatorium. He went downhill fast and died five months after the more serious illness had set in.
