A 1948 autopsy specimen from a 19 year old male who was diagnosed with congenital heart disease at the age of two. He was admitted in 1948 on account of increasing weakness of the legs. Compression of the cord at the main kyphus of his severe kypho-scoliosis was diagnosed and laminectomy advised. Unfortunately he developed retention of urine with supervening infection from which he rapidly succumbed.
